About Celso
I have lived in Canada (3 years) and in the USA (2 years), worked in schools (+ 6 years) such as CNA, Cel-Lep, Senac, Cultura Inglesa, and have tutored and taught private lessons (+ 20 years) in person or online. Many of my students have been able to not only be interviewed and pass exams but also work, travel abroad, and give presentations using English.

I teach beginners or people who already speak English but want to get more fluent. One of the books I use is the American English File book series for English on a daily basis and other books for business English and exams such as TOEFL, IETLS, PET or for proficiency in reading exams when applying for a master’s degree.
In order to identify the student's level of English, I use CERF, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, used worldwide, which divides the levels into 0, A, B, or C:
0 - No knowledge (beginner)
A - Basic speaker:
A1 Elementary and
A2 Pre-intermediate
B - Independent speaker:
B1 Intermediate and
B2 High intermediate
C - Proficient speaker:
C1 Advanced and
C2 Proficient
I use a technique called 'What I said / What I meant' to help students improve their English: I write down their mistakes with grammar, pronunciation, and use of words, and after the conversation, I present a correct or more colloquial way in English for them to use, depending on the situation (formal, informal, emergencies, etc ...)
