About Nathalie
I have been teaching English for more than 25 years, I started when I was studying in English I trained many students, I helped students to enter a European class section (2nd level), allowed college students to significantly improve their level (from A1 to A2 and higher levels), favored the improvement of the pronunciation of English which is one of my priorities (the musicality of the language, the "flow", allows understanding by anglophones), aroused new interests (in terms of cultural openness, musical, historical), my classes are alive and supported by examples taken in the news, history, literature, music (expressions fun, idioms, anecdotes, even slang words or phrases)

I am an English teacher in a vocational high school (Lycée Jules Haag), at the CLA (Center for Applied Linguistics: Summer training class oral practise in English for college and high school students) and give private tuition (children, teenagers, adults).I live in Besançon.
I use different medias and teaching devices according to the needs and objectives of my pupils/students: For a better fluency in oral practise, the course will be mostly conversational and focused on language, with a progressive-interactive method,using various audio-visual media adapted to the level (videos,films, BBC News, articles, songs/music clips), in order to work on grammar, and learn or revise basic sentence structure. We will focus on pronunciation, on the musicality the sentence (intonation, accentuation, rhythm/ phrasing,like in jazz or rap). I use Caroline Graham's "Jazz chants" which allow to approach elements of grammar in a playful / musical way,repeating sentences in a rhythm helping to memorize them (interrogative, affirmative, or injunctive sentences)
The important thing is to practice with pleasure, and not be afraid to make mistakes!
When working to improve your written English,we will focus on:
1 / Understanding written documents: reading original texts and analyzing them/answering questions e.g. newspaper articles (British or US dailies or magazines), with mistakes to correct / words with missing letters to complete, texts of songs, or short texts with misplaced images (ex cartoons) to put back in correct order,
2 / Writing short articles or letters to an English penfriend, different kinds of letters, either informal or more official. Writing a letter of motivation or a CV in English.
3 / Coaching for regular training - Assistance for self-evaluation - Evaluation tests (CECR ref) help to measure the student's progress. Set new goals.
