About Ciaran
My name is Ciaran Callaghan, and I'm a passionate English tutor specializing in elementary education. I work with students aged 6 to 12 to help them build strong reading, writing, and speaking skills—while also developing confidence and a real enjoyment of learning. Every student is unique, and that’s exactly how I approach my lessons. My lessons typically focus on building foundational literacy skills through engaging and interactive activities. I like to make the lessons as fun as possible, ensuring my students stay engaged throughout the process.
I use a student-centered approach rooted in active learning. This includes phonics-based instruction for early readers, interactive storytelling, and hands-on grammar activities. I incorporate visual aids, games, and age-appropriate literature to make lessons relatable and fun. Positive reinforcement, patience, and scaffolding are key to helping students feel capable and motivated.
I believe in connecting language skills to real-life contexts. For example, students might learn punctuation through writing letters to characters in their favorite books, or expand their vocabulary through creative writing and group discussions.
