About Alyssa
I am a 21-year-old engineering student. I have been in advanced placement mathematics since I was 11 and have been tutoring students my age or younger since. Math is not only something I excel in, it's also something I enjoy, which is why I believe I am able to help students progress in their learning. I take understanding how a student learns and then use that to create the proper lesson plans and learning materials.

Being able to assess how students learn is the most important thing to me when creating a plan for tutoring. For example, students who require hands-on learning will complete practice problems and examples to show their proficiency in a specific topic. Progress checks are extremely important to make sure that a student is benefiting from their lessons before moving on. I believe that understanding how a student processes and understands information is the key to helping them excel in their studies, and I provide a comfortable and judgment-free learning space.

Details
Online and in-person rates are the same at 18/hr. If I am traveling for an in-person session over 10 miles away, there will be an extra 5 dollars for travel added. A first session of 30 minutes is available for free. I will do an evaluation of the student during this time to devise a progress plan for moving forward.
