About Jack
Hi, I'm Jack, I'm currently studying Engineering at the University of York and am offering tutoring in Maths and Physics from GCSE to A-level. I have taken both subjects for years and have a passionate approach to both. My other interests include watching Formula 1, playing football and rugby with friends, and playing guitar.

I teach Maths and Physics to GCSE and A-level students, and I try to make my lessons as clear, relaxed, and useful as possible. I know that these subjects can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, so my main goal is to help students understand the ideas properly and build their confidence along the way.
I don't believe in simply giving students the answers. Instead, I like to work through problems with them, explain things in a way that makes sense to them, and then gradually let them take the lead. I use plenty of examples and exam-style questions, as I find that students learn best when they can see how a topic works and then have a chance to practise it themselves.
I also adapt my teaching depending on the student. Some students may need to go back and strengthen the basics, while others may already have a good understanding and want to focus on more challenging questions or exam technique. I'm happy to work at whatever pace is most helpful.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I can be flexible depending on the student's needs. For example, closer to exams, longer sessions can be useful for covering several topics or working through full exam papers.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-level Maths and Physics students of all abilities. Whether you're struggling with a particular topic, trying to catch up, preparing for exams, or aiming for the highest grades possible, I want you to leave each lesson feeling that you've understood something more clearly than when you started.
Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions. There’s no such thing as a silly question, and I believe that creating a friendly environment makes it much easier to learn and improve.
