About Asal
I am very conscientious and careful when it comes to my students’ time. I like to ask them what they want to learn. Often, it is surprising how well students know their own level of understanding. Then, I will ask them to do a problem for me thinking out loud and make a teaching plan from there. Starting with teaching what they don’t understand, teaching what they have an incomplete/wrong grasp of, and finally some practice problems.

Math is easy if explained properly. If I can explain a concept in less than an hour your brain does not find it impossible to understand the concept and pay attention. Also, you will have more time to let it sink in and practice it. Coming from an engineering background, I know how to make concepts simpler for students and break problems down to smaller pieces.

Asal is the most hardworking intelligent girl I know. As someone who is currently a high school teacher in Canada, I know what qualities are needed to be a great teacher. Asal is patient, persistent and has amazing scaffolding abilities. We share expertise in Math, Science and English which I know that she will excel teaching in. Asal has specialized knowledge as a mechanical engineer and has an amazing ability to explain complex engineering concepts to me as a psychology major. I trust Asal with my life and know that she will be an amazing teacher. She gets my full recommendation!
