About Christine
Hi, I’m Christine Smith-Arbelo, a biomedical engineering student with a passion for math and education. I’ve always been fascinated by how math shapes the world around us, from designing innovative technologies to solving real-life problems. My goal as a tutor is to make math approachable, enjoyable, and relevant for my students. With a solid background in advanced mathematics and practical experience applying these concepts in engineering, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to my teaching. I believe that every student has the potential to excel in math when they’re given the right support and tools. When I’m not tutoring or studying, I enjoy exploring creative outlets, volunteering in my community, and connecting with others to make a positive impact. Let’s work together to build your math skills and confidence, one step at a time!

I focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel confident tackling the topic of geometry (which can be daunting for many students.) All of my students have earned a 4 or higher on the Florida Geometry EOC (with proper preparation).
My approach involves breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using real-world examples to relate abstract ideas to practical applications. I encourage active participation, foster critical thinking, and adapt my teaching to each student’s learning style.
We cover all topics that will show up on the Florida Geometry EOC including:
- Proof & Reasoning
- Congruence & Similarity
- Right Triangles & Trigonometry
- Circles
- Coordinate Geometry
- Geometric Measurement
- Applying Geometry to Real Situations
- And much more!
Here's What a Typical 1-Hour Session Looks Like:
Warm-Up: A brief review of previous material or a fun problem-solving activity to get the student thinking.
Concept Introduction: Clear explanation of the topic, with visuals or interactive tools if needed.
Practice Problems: Guided practice, starting with simpler problems and progressing to more challenging ones.
Interactive Session: Encourage questions, discussions, and problem-solving strategies.
Wrap-Up: Summarize key points, assign practice problems, and set goals for the next session.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: As a biomedical engineering student, I bring a deep understanding of math’s practical applications in science and engineering, making the subject more relatable and inspiring for students. My patience, ability to personalize lessons, and passion for teaching help students not only improve their grades but also develop a genuine interest in mathematics and geometry.
Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are specifically for students who may want to improve in Geometry and get a high score on the Florida Geometry EOC.

Perfect! Christine has been absolutely amazing! She’s been tutoring my daughter twice weekly in preparation for the 9th grade Geometry EOC. She is patient, knowledgeable, and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. We have seen a significant improvement in my daughter’s confidence and academic performances since her lessons began. We are so grateful for the support and highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for an exceptional tutor!

Christine helped me with my calculus class. She was so patient, broke down the concepts in a way I could understand, and gave me the best practice problems. I felt prepared for my midterm. If you’re having trouble with math, Christine is the one to ask for help!!
I have autism and struggle to learn mathematics well. Thanks to Christine’s patience and dedication I was able to graduate valedictorian of my high school’s graduating class. Any person to pass up on receiving assistance from Christine would be a complete and utter fool.
