About Timothy
Before the first lesson, I ask students to share the topic or example questions they would like to cover so I can prepare relevant material. I want students to feel comfortable saying when something does not make sense—there is no embarrassment in asking for another explanation or making mistakes while learning.
I grew up in Germany and completed my engineering degree in England, so I am fluent in both English and German and familiar with different educational backgrounds. Students can expect me to be well prepared, respectful and genuinely interested in helping them progress.

My lessons focus on making Maths clear and manageable. I identify where a student is struggling, then break the topic into smaller steps using familiar analogies, worked examples and guided questions. I check understanding regularly before moving on to independent practice and adapt my explanations to the individual.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and can focus on classwork, homework, exam preparation or a particular topic. I have ADHD and dyslexia myself, so I understand that students may need different explanations or more time to process an idea.
I have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduating with First Class Honours. I also taught Maths and English to pupils aged 5–15 while volunteering in Zanzibar and have coached young people in Germany and Sweden as a licensed table-tennis coach. My lessons are suitable for primary, secondary and GCSE students who want to strengthen their understanding and build confidence.
