About Taha
Hi! I’m a Civil Engineering graduate with a strong background in mathematics and problem-solving. Throughout my studies, I developed a deep appreciation for how maths applies to the real world — from structural design to fluid mechanics — and I enjoy helping others see how rewarding and logical maths can be when it’s clearly explained. I’ve tutored students of different ages and abilities, from early secondary school to A-level and beyond. My teaching style is patient, structured, and focused on understanding the “why” behind each concept, not just memorising formulas. I like to break complex topics into simple steps, use real-life examples where possible, and build confidence through guided practice and encouragement.

My teaching approach is centred on understanding, not memorisation. I focus on helping students grasp the underlying concepts behind mathematical methods so they can confidently apply them to new problems. I use a structured, step-by-step approach — breaking complex topics into manageable parts, demonstrating examples, and then guiding students through similar problems until they can solve them independently. I encourage active learning through problem-solving, discussion, and visual aids (such as diagrams, graphs, or real-world examples from engineering). For students preparing for exams, I also provide targeted practice and exam strategies to build accuracy and speed. Typical Lesson Length Lessons typically last 60 minutes, which allows enough time to introduce a concept, work through examples, and ensure understanding through practice. For exam preparation or more intensive study, I also offer 90-minute sessions. Qualifications and Experience I hold a degree in Civil Engineering, which has given me a strong mathematical foundation — particularly in applied mathematics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. During my studies, I often helped classmates and younger students with maths and physics, which developed my communication and tutoring skills. I’ve since tutored students across various levels, from early secondary school to university foundation level.
