Anis approached me for tutoring to prepare her for a Goethe-Zertifikat A1 exam. After a quick assessment, it turned out that she had already made all the necessary preparations, that she barely needed any additional support. It's always a delight to meet resourceful students who understand what is needed to meet their personal goals.

Ana is a persistent student who, in spite of hardships and having gone through a sub-optimal learning environment, chooses not to give up. Though she seemed to struggle with unfamiliar grammatical concepts, you know that she is fully capable of grasping the ideas that these grammar tools are trying to convey. Teachers just need to want to listen what she's trying to say, and spend the time doing so. She possesses a remarkable memory and can recall the English translation of German words with amazing speed. Watching her progress has been a fulfilling experience, and I would recommend her to any tutor.

Miza is a bright student who just needs encouraging and a nudge in the right direction in order to unlock her full potential. Her thinking is clear and her argumentation is systematic, and this becomes immediately apparent when you read her compositions in English. Her command of English could be leveraged to explain German grammar and vocabulary. Tutoring her has been a pleasant experience, something I think other tutors would agree with.

Paul is a very gifted language learner, and a very intelligent person in general. Having learned the German language for about one and a half years practically by himself, he managed to get to a point where he can hold a casual conversation in matters such as educational background and career with ease and little need of translation. He seems to intuitively grasp how languages work, and correctly identified the need for active conversation to help consolidate vocabulary and grammatical rules that he learned beforehand. He proactively seeks resources such as grammar textbooks and exercise books to learn language, and additionally uses AI to help improve his writing. Overall, Paul is a very capable learner, who I'm sure other teachers and tutors will be delighted to cooperate with.

Seungjun, Miju's son, is a talented pupil. After realising the opportunity to get a quality education in Germany, he decided to pick up German. He shows a remarkable ability to deduce meaning from texts with vocabulary he has not learned beforehand. He's also good at focusing on things that he already knows in order to correctly solve challenging problems. As this is his first time trying to learn a language very dissimilar to the ones he already knows, he might sometimes require extensive guidance. However, he is motivated and persistent, and has been showing great progress since his first lesson.

Iman is a mature student who recognizes the things she needs to improve in order to reach her goals. She's very clear in the way she expresses herself, which not only helps in understanding how to assist her in tackling the challenges she faces, but also to relate to her as a person. I think every teacher would appreciate having Iman as a pupil.
