About Brent
I’m an engineer with 5 years of professional experience, including the past 2 years dedicated to training and mentoring other engineers. Through this work, I’ve developed a strong ability to break down complex technical concepts into clear, practical steps that students can actually apply.
My approach to tutoring is hands-on and tailored to each student. I don’t just focus on theory—I help you understand how and why things work, so you can confidently solve problems on your own. Whether you’re trying to strengthen your fundamentals, prepare for exams, or improve your real-world engineering skills, I’ll meet you at your current level and help you progress efficiently.
Having trained engineers in professional environments, I understand the gaps that often exist between academic learning and real-world application. I aim to bridge that gap by teaching not just the “right answers,” but the thinking process behind them.

- Thanks Michael! Appreciate it looking forward to the next lessonBrent's response :
Perfect! Brent is the best! Not only does he keep my son's attention for the duration of the lesson, but my son has an enthusiastic kick in his step and an excitement around math when he's done!
- Leo (Tanya's son) is very smart! He quickly picks up new topics and is also very patient and polite during lessons. Always a pleasure teaching himBrent's response :
Perfect! He was great at helping break down practice problems into smaller components and explaining the concepts that each question was testing. Also very patient when it took me a lot of time to grasp a concept, and tried to explain it in different ways. Wound up with an A+ in the course!
- One of my brightest students! Sarah always worked hard and strived to for perfection! Exemplar problem solving skills and worth ethic :)Brent's response :
Perfect! I thought Brent was a great tutor! He was patient, he knew his concepts, and he wasn't afraid to slow down and explain things in a different way when I didn't feel confident with a certain way of thinking. I would definitely recommend him!!
- One of my most improved students! Matthew is hardworking and clearly puts in the effort and time required to get better :)Brent's response :
Perfect! My daughter was very concerned about taking Physics 11 this year, but she wanted to persevere so that she could keep her university options open. Brent has been the ideal tutor: kind, clear and patient. His response time is fantastic and Physics has turned into subject that my daughter is feeling increasingly confident about.
- Fiona is a great student. Hard working, curious and engaging. Always a pleasure teaching her!Brent's response :
Perfect! Brent is teaching 8 grade math to my daughter.
Already after a few weeks my daughter is more confident and I can see an improvement in the way she approaches math- Kiana (Sarah's daughter) is a fantastic student. She displays genuine curiosity and is not afraid to ask questions about things that confuse her. If she continues with this attitude and work ethic she will improve in no time!Brent's response :
Perfect! Explained the topics very well, was friendly and kind.
- Tobyn is a quick learner and hard worker! These are qualities I always admire in students as it helps keep lessons lively and engaging. With just a little practice and guidance on newer, more complex topics, Tobyn is bound to do great!Brent's response :
Perfect! My son was refusing to have a tutor as he thought it’s not cool.
We found Brent, my son is very happy to take tutoring from him. Brent is not only smart and great at math, he also connect with teenager, know what teaching methods works for teen, how to explain to teen That way that teen does not lose focus and interest in math.
We are so happy to found him!- Kai is a fantastic student! He showed fantastic engagement throughout the lesson and is quick to learn and recognize patterns. The next step for Kai would be to build an intuition about algebra and how to go about solving problems. All in all, he made the tutoring experience awesome!Brent's response :
Perfect! Great teaching and communication skills! Kind, polite and punctual. Easy explanation and Good with kids!
- Hannah is great student! She is very quick and adept at math solving math problems. One area that we are actively working on improving is her ability to solve word problems. Once the word problems are converted to numbers, she has no problem completing the problems perfectly well. After working through these, I'm sure she'll do fantastically!Brent's response :
Perfect! Brent is a conscientious teacher and tutor. His diplomacy and patience with a student allows them to excel to their full potential. Brent is great at establishing a comfortable environment and relationship with his student before diving into the subject. He’s great at breaking down big, and often “scary” subjects and makes sure to stop and check in after each big lesson.
A classmate of Brent's. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him because he is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but has a great skill in being able to teach others. Brent is very good at explaining things, taking the time to make sure the concept is properly gotten across and understood rather than rushing it.
An experience we had together was a 8 and a half hour hike. Although not in the same situation as a tutoring session, the way that he perservered and kept the group motivated shows qualities that I would look for in a great teacher.
Brent has an excellent grasp of concepts and is good at explaining. He is a patient and understanding which makes him a great teacher and leader.
