For essay writing, this involves breaking down strengths and areas for improvement in structure, argumentation, clarity, and style. Resource Utilisation: I utilise a variety of resources, including authentic texts, sample essays, and online tools, to make lessons dynamic and relevant. Typical Length of a Lesson: A typical lesson is 60-90 minutes. This duration allows for in-depth exploration of topics, practical application, and sufficient time for questions and feedback without overwhelming the student. For younger learners or those with shorter attention spans, sessions can be adjusted to 45 minutes. Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor: While new to formal tutoring in English and essay writing, my background as a final-year LLB student at the University of London provides a robust foundation for this role. My legal education has honed my skills in rigorous research, logical argumentation, precise drafting, and clear communication – all essential for effective essay writing and language proficiency. I have extensive experience in legal research and drafting, including authoring legal opinions and aiding brief preparation, and drafting numerous corporate contracts. My roles in moot court competitions and as President of the Law and Mooting Society have further developed my public speaking and advocacy skills, which translate directly into effective teaching and explanation.
