About Rosalind
During my career, I trained and facilitated the learning of students from grades 7 – 12, enabling them to comprehensively and creatively apply mathematical knowledge and skills gained and concepts learnt, to successfully arrive at solutions, more capably approach challenges and problems in mathematics, and write examinations successfully, achieving excellent results.
I taught Mathematics for the greater part of my teaching career between the years of 1979 and 1999 at Saint Roses Senior Secondary School in Guyana. I prepared students for the CXC external examinations in Guyana, and for the BGCSE external examinations in Botswana during the years 1999 to 2015. Currently, I do private tutoring in Mathematics in Guyana.
The naturally unique friendly yet professional approach, along with my strong desire to help young people with their academic, personal and social needs, inspires a welcoming, inclusive individualized classroom atmosphere, which cultivates in students confidence and determined effort to achieve at their highest capability! I have the ability to get at the heart of what most concerns my students, hence they trust me, ultimately reaching their goal of thorough understanding with the acquired skills to apply, analyze and synthesize as needed. They are thus able to exercise their creativity to make connections in the real world; and to fortify their determination to succeed and overcome challenges in Mathematics and in their own lives. The sense of purpose, students gain by engaging in mathematical activities, motivate them to own their empowerment and find joy in their work and in their own life; extending this toward others and their community!

The naturally unique friendly yet professional approach, along with my strong desire to help young people with their academic, personal and social needs, inspires a welcoming, inclusive individualized classroom atmosphere, which cultivates in students confidence and determined effort to achieve at their highest capability!
The problem is posed, and the student is encouraged to describe the problem in their own words, demonstrating their full understanding of what the problem is and what needs to be solved. Through a series of questions and illustrations designed to help the student to become fully involved in wanting to find ways to arrive at solutions, the pre-acquired skills of the student comes to the fore and are incorporated in the activities tailored to arrive at a solution. The student is never left out of the decision making processes in solving the problem, and as a result feels empowered with the intrinsic power to solve problems, not only in Mathematics, but ultimately in life!
I have the ability to get at the heart of what most concerns my students, hence they trust me, ultimately reaching their goal of thorough understanding with the acquired skills to apply, analyze and synthesize as needed.
