About Terry
Hi there! I'm Terry, and I know firsthand that the path to learning, especially mastering a new language or skill, isn't always straightforward. My own journey has been anything but linear. Starting out as a fine dining chef, I explored the art of creativity in the kitchen before diving into the dynamic world of business and marketing. Opening businesses taught me not just about success, but about the importance of clear and impactful communication.
My thirst for learning didn't stop there. I returned to school as an adult at Conestoga College, where I not only improved my creative writing and communication skills but also faced the challenges many students encounter. Winning awards and scholarships for multimedia storytelling, I realized the power of stories and how they can bridge any gap, including those in language and understanding.
Being recruited to tutor at the college level, I worked closely with students from various backgrounds, each struggling and succeeding in their own ways. This experience taught me that the most important skill in teaching isn't just knowledge, but the ability to relate, understand, and adapt to each student's unique learning journey.
Now, as I offer tutoring in areas ranging from English as a Second Language (ESL) to Creative Writing, and even multimedia fields like photography and video editing, my goal is to make learning accessible, enjoyable, and tailored to your needs. Whether English feels like an insurmountable wall or you're looking to refine your creative skills, I'm here to guide you, support you, and show you that with the right approach, you can achieve anything.
