About Rodney
I am an engineering student with a strong foundation in math and physics, and I focus on helping students understand the why behind concepts, not just how to get the right answer. My goal is to build confidence and problem-solving skills that students can apply independently.
My teaching style is interactive and student-centered. I guide students through problems step-by-step, encourage them to explain their thinking, and use real-world examples and simple demonstrations to make abstract ideas more clear and engaging.
Each session is tailored to the student’s needs, starting with a brief review of key concepts followed by guided practice that builds toward independence. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
I work with middle school and high school students in math and physics, helping them improve understanding, performance, and confidence.

I approach tutoring as a collaborative process focused on understanding the why behind math and physics, not just getting the right answer. My goal is to help students build confidence by developing both conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I use an interactive approach where students are actively involved in solving problems and explaining their thinking. I guide them step-by-step rather than just showing solutions, and I connect concepts to real-world examples. As an engineering student, I also like to incorporate simple demonstrations or experiments when possible to make abstract ideas more engaging and easier to understand.
Typical Lesson Structure
Each session starts by identifying problem areas or goals, followed by a quick review of key concepts. We then work through problems together, gradually building independence. I end sessions with a short summary and strategies students can use on their own.
What Sets Me Apart
I focus on helping students truly understand concepts so they can apply them confidently, rather than relying on memorization. I also create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
Who I Work With
I work with middle school and high school students in math and physics, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve grades, and prepare for exams.
