About Phil
I have been playing bass for over 15 years. My extensive performance experience during that time includes concerts with prolific international artists, such as Ledisi, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Siriya Ensemble, Simon Shaheen, John Berberian, David Fiuczynski, and the Berklee Middle Eastern Fusion Ensemble. Some of my teachers and mentors during my time at Berklee include John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Dave Marvuglio (Daath), Linda Oh, Lincoln Goines, Danilo Pérez, Joe Lovano, Marion Hayden, Ben Street, and Nicholas Payton. Apart from English, I speak Spanish, Italian and German.

Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for a while, I can help you through any challenges you may have along your way. Together we will work on polishing your technique, mastering the relationship between harmony, rhythm, and melody, and identifying your goals as an artist. I am well versed across many genres and styles, including rock, pop, jazz, fusion, metal, electronic music, and various Middle Eastern music traditions – I can teach you about the fundamentals of any style, as well as applying advanced concepts (jazz harmony, odd meters/polyrhythms and more) to your playing.

Filippo is a special musician who is seemingly at home in an endless array of situations. He is a strong communicator, and very professional.
