About Maxine
Before starting my Master of Arts in Special Education, I earned a degree in Strategic Communication. Working in international public relations taught me how to take complicated information and translate it into clear and accessible concepts. I quickly realized I wanted to use those exact skills to help students succeed. Today, I am working directly in a local elementary school creating tailored lessons for diverse learners. I know that tutoring works best when students feel completely supported and comfortable making mistakes. My goal is to build an encouraging and relaxed space where learners can ask questions and tackle challenging subjects step by step.

My tutoring approach is personalized, engaging, and centered on building both academic skills and student confidence. My lessons are designed for K-12 students who want to improve their reading, writing, foundational math, or overall study habits and organization.
A typical lesson begins with a brief check-in to review our previous session and set a goal for the day. From there, we transition into interactive, guided practice. I use clear step-by-step breakdowns, visual aids, and personalized materials tailored specifically to how your child learns best. We always close by reviewing what we accomplished and setting a positive focus for the week ahead.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to any learning style. Drawing on my background in Communications and my current experience as a classroom educator and Education Master's student, I excel at breaking down complex concepts and making learning accessible, stress-free, and enjoyable for every student.
