About Rosie
As a recent graduate of the University of Edinburgh I am a tutor who is freshly familiar with the highs and lows of the student experience. I changed my degree after my first year from philosophy to English Literature. Having not taken the a level, my rediscovery of studying literature in an independent setting was challenging but has been fuelled by my longstanding love of reading
I've believe that english literature allows a student to think of their own questions and to look for the answers independently of parents or teachers. It allows a unique experience of imagining and empathising with both national heritages and distant cultures.

My aim is always to ultimately give my pupils the confidence to explore the subject on their own terms. I am always looking for the opportunity to closely tailor each lesson not only to the pupil's needs and individual goals but also to their abilities.
I support students of all ages and abilities who are approaching their school entrance 13+ scholarship/CE exams, iGCSEs and A level equivalents. I enjoy tutoring both those who are looking for extra help and students looking to be challenged beyond the curriculum.
I often set my students homework - especially in preparation for exams - it can often be more effective to approach a problem that they are familiar with. Of course I am happy to mark any work that students send my way and provide written feedback.
