About Jacob
Hi there! I'm a first-year Economics student at the University of Liverpool with a massive passion for macroeconomics and travelling the world. Outside of uni, I'm a huge football fan and fitness enthusiast; I even smashed the London Marathon! I bring genuine professionalism and experience to my online tutoring, having successfully delivered over 300 remote GCSE lessons across all major exam boards. To deliver impactful lessons, my approach is highly structured, goal-oriented, and student-led. When we first meet, I will prioritise the specific topics you want to go through. I prepare by directly teaching the specification from whatever exam board you are studying, ensuring every minute aligns perfectly with your test day requirements.
During delivery, I break down tricky Maths formulae and Economics concepts into clear steps. I identify problem areas early on and explicitly look out for what examiners are looking for, sharing my best tips to maximise marks. I continuously measure progress via targeted practice questions and mini-tests. To reinforce learning between sessions, I can provide homework with helpful feedback.
Ultimately, I believe improving confidence is the single most important factor to encourage learning and reduce exam anxiety. I maintain an energetic, highly supportive, and judgement-free environment where mistakes are treated as learning steps. By tackling the "fear factor" of tough topics and mastering the exam board criteria, I help you stay motivated to achieve your top target grades.
