About Sophie
I am a Year 1 Economics and Management student at King’s College London, with a strong academic foundation built from achieving top rankings in A-Level Economics, including a subject prize for placing first in my year in Year 12. I offer GCSE and A-Level Economics tutoring, as well as GCSE Chemistry lessons, all delivered online via Zoom for flexible and effective learning. I also bring proven teaching experience from Hong Kong, where I previously tutored Chemistry and helped a student achieve top of the class in their exams.
I understand how daunting it can be to prepare for such a big exam. I am here to break down complex content into simple and manageable chunks, and help students to achieve their maximum and perform in exams.

In each lesson, I begin by asking students what they want to focus on so I can tailor the session to their needs. We will work through the content carefully, clear up any misunderstandings, and build strong conceptual foundations. Once the student is ready, we move on to exam questions and essay writing (for Economics tutoring), with a focus on developing a strong chain of analysis — explaining not just what happens, but why it happens and how it links to its potential macro/micro implications. Towards the end of the lesson, I provide targeted preparation tasks for the following session, ensuring steady progress between lessons. At the start of each new lesson, I test the student’s understanding of what we covered previously, reinforcing knowledge and building long-term confidence.
