About Isla
My interest in economics began with the desire to understand why societies function the way they do—how choices, incentives, and systems shape outcomes both locally and globally. Over seven years of teaching, this interest has grown into a passion for helping students grasp the logic and relevance of the subject. Teaching economics allows me to blend analysis with real-world insight, guiding learners to think critically about the world around them. Seeing students transform confusion into comprehension brings me constant fulfillment. My teaching style is clear, patient, and discussion-oriented. I believe that every student has the ability to think economically when given the right guidance and support. I adapt lessons to different learning styles, using diagrams, examples, and step-by-step reasoning to make even complex topics understandable. I value structure, open dialogue, and emotional encouragement to help students feel engaged and confident. My aim is to create an environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, forming opinions, and exploring economic ideas with curiosity. Outside teaching, I stay connected to the world of economics through reading, research analysis, and following global trends. I enjoy exploring how different economic forces interact and how policies influence real-world outcomes. Teaching economics is meaningful to me because it connects academic knowledge with everyday life and personal growth. Helping students develop confidence, awareness, and analytical skill remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring ideas, discussing perspectives, and connecting real-world events with economic principles. Whether studying microeconomics, macroeconomics, or foundational theory, each session aims to build clarity, curiosity, and meaningful understanding.
Beginners start with core ideas such as supply and demand, opportunity cost, scarcity, and basic market behavior. Intermediate learners explore elasticity, market structures, economic indicators, and fiscal and monetary policy. Advanced students analyze global economics, long-term models, development theory, exam preparation, and data interpretation. I use clear explanations, examples from real-life events, diagrams, and structured exercises to make learning practical and relatable. Assignments, discussions, and guided problem-solving help students strengthen both analytical and conceptual skills.
Economics lessons aim to build more than academic performance; they nurture critical thinking, perspective, and informed decision-making. Many students develop stronger reasoning abilities, greater confidence in interpreting information, and a deeper awareness of how the world functions economically.
