About Zelie
My interest in economics grew from observing how markets, policies, and decisions shape everyday life, from consumer choices to national economic trends. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.A in Economics and an M.Sc in Financial Economics, equipping me with both theoretical depth and applied analytical skills. Over 9 years, I have guided students of diverse abilities in developing conceptual clarity, quantitative reasoning, and analytical confidence, helping them apply economic thinking effectively in various contexts.
I focus on creating an interactive, student-centered learning environment. Many learners initially find abstract models, graphs, and policy analysis challenging, so I break concepts into manageable steps, using real-world examples and exercises that foster understanding and application. I encourage students to think independently, question assumptions, and approach problems analytically, building both competence and intellectual curiosity.
Beyond teaching, I stay updated on current economic research, policy debates, and market trends to ensure lessons are relevant and insightful. This approach enables students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, deepening understanding and engagement. Witnessing students grow in analytical skill, confidence, and critical thinking is deeply rewarding. Supporting learners in achieving mastery of economic concepts and developing a robust analytical mindset is the most fulfilling aspect of my career in economics education.

Economics becomes engaging when students see how theory connects to real-world decision-making, markets, and societal dynamics. My lessons cover microeconomics, macroeconomics, behavioral economics, supply-demand analysis, market structures, and policy implications, using practical examples, case studies, and interactive problem-solving. I focus on cultivating conceptual clarity, critical thinking, and quantitative reasoning, helping learners approach economic challenges systematically. Students are encouraged to ask questions, analyze scenarios, and develop insights that extend beyond textbooks, fostering both understanding and intellectual curiosity.
Lesson plans are tailored to each student’s level. Beginners learn foundational concepts, basic supply-demand analysis, and graphical interpretation with clear explanations. Intermediate learners explore equilibrium analysis, fiscal and monetary policies, elasticity, and applied case studies. Advanced learners engage with econometric modeling, optimization, game theory, and policy evaluation. Each session combines instruction, practical exercises, and scenario discussions to deepen comprehension, analytical skill, and confidence in economic reasoning.
Economics lessons also build transferable skills such as data interpretation, structured analysis, and informed decision-making.
