• When did you develop an interest in your subject and in private tutoring?

  I was first interested in accounting in high school as I studied it my love for it also grew. I developed the love for economics a little later in life when I discovered how challenging yet interesting it can be. I grew up in a household full of teachers so if I could not become one, I could at least become a private tutor.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach accounting at first year university level and high school level and my least favorite topic to teach is bank reconciliations and my favorite topic to teach is financial statements and their notes.

• Did you have any role models? Perhaps a teacher that inspired you?

  My role model is my high school accounting teacher who taught me to go after the things I desire.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  Patience, understanding, willing to adapt as situations change, organisational skills, being flexible and being a great listener.

• Share an anecdote related to your subject or your schooldays.

  I failed economics the first time I studied it but that helped me grasp it better and to develop better study skills.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced at school?

  I could not develop the correct study skills or mange my time until I asked for help and learned the necessary skills.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general, an element of this particular subject, or something completely different?

  My passion is helping people and giving back to my community. I run a non-profit to fulfill this passion.

• What makes you a Superprof?

  I am patient, dedicated to my students and willing to go the extra mile to help my students achieve their goals.
