About Maryam
Hi! I'm a second-year economics major at university and have a great passion for economics as a social science and how it explains the world. I have developed a deep interest and expertise in subjects like macroeconomics, the global economy, and concepts of microeconomics over about 5 years, in IGCSE, AS level, and now at university level. I hope to use the knowledge I've had the privilege to obtain and master so far to help students achieve their desired improvement in economics and exams.

My main aim is to attempt to erase the 'very dry subject' reputation that economics has. I want to do this through bringing in my way of looking at it and then teaching it in a fun and practically relatable way, in order to make it easy for students to enjoy and understand the subject. My target group of students would be Edexcel IGCSE and Edexcel IAS level students taking economics and needing assistance with exam style structure of answering questions and helping understand concepts. A typical lesson plan would include simplifying any hard topics for students, asking them to explain what they understood from the lesson, encourage real life practical examples to facilitate learning and application of what's learnt and ask students to practice exam style questions to receive feedback on how to become better.
