About Caitlin
I am a recent BSc Economics graduate from the University of Exeter with a strong academic track record. Outside of academia, I currently stand as Consulting Director of a large non-profit consulting organisation, having spent my placement year at Deloitte, and received a graduate job offer from McKinsey. I have also spent the last few years formally mentoring university students through their personal and professional development, whilst achieving exceptional academic results. My unique experiences allow me to engage students and build enthusiasm and excitement in the subject.

My strengths have always been in maths and problem-solving, but ultimately, I am a people-person. My aim is not to lecture, but to provide students with the tools and confidence that will help them become excellent independent learners.
As a tutor, I build partnerships with my students to support their learning and to help them work towards their goals. I adapt my approach to every students’ needs, but there are three common goals I have for every student.
The first is to provide them with the techniques, skills, and resources that they will need to confidently approach learning. This will be accompanied by tailored progress trackers to encourage students and parents/guardians to celebrate their growth along the way.
The second is to conquer ‘focus areas.’ These are areas where the student may feel they have a mental block, topics which are stressors in the subject, or content which they dislike or have no interest in. Focusing on one problem at a time to overcome these focus areas can be the most rewarding part of learning.
My third goal is to help the student to enjoy the subject! I use unique and tailored applications whilst sharing my own enthusiasm for maths and economics to engage students in a meaningful way.
