About Kieran
My interest in economics began with curiosity about inequality, growth, and the way policies shape everyday opportunities. This passion led me to earn an M.A in Development Economics, where I studied both economic theory and the real challenges faced by societies worldwide. Over 9 years of teaching, I have supported students in building strong understanding and confidence through clear explanation and structured guidance.
I believe economics should feel connected to life, not distant or abstract. My teaching approach emphasises discussion, logical reasoning, and helping students learn how to communicate economic arguments effectively. I enjoy supporting learners preparing for exams as well as those who simply want to understand how the world’s systems operate.
Outside tutoring, I remain engaged with economics through global research reading, policy analysis, and development studies. Teaching economics is fulfilling because students often gain a new lens for understanding society. Helping learners grow into confident analytical thinkers is something I truly value.

Economics becomes meaningful when students understand that it explains how societies grow, how people make choices, and how resources are distributed. In my lessons, I guide learners through concepts such as scarcity, market behaviour, government intervention, development, and international trade using real-world examples that feel relevant and engaging. I focus on building deep understanding so students can explain ideas clearly rather than memorising isolated definitions.
Lessons are adapted to each learner’s level. Beginners start with core foundations like supply and demand, opportunity cost, and simple economic diagrams. Intermediate students strengthen their ability to interpret data, write structured evaluations, and connect theory to real economic events. Advanced learners explore deeper macroeconomic frameworks, development challenges, policy debates, and global economic relationships. Each session includes discussion-based learning alongside guided practice.
Economics helps students develop awareness of the world and stronger critical thinking skills. Many learners gain confidence when they can finally understand inflation, unemployment, or trade news with clarity. My goal is to support academic success while helping students become thoughtful, informed thinkers about modern economic life.
