About Dhananjay
DHANANJAYA DIDAGA
Dhananjaya Didaga is a graduate in Kannada Literature and later earned a Diploma in Theatre Arts from NINASAM, one of the world’s most respected theatre institutes. He began his artistic journey as an actor and theatre technician with the NINASAM Repertory, gaining extensive practical experience in performance and stagecraft.
He later served as a faculty member at NINASAM, the very institution where he trained. Over the years, he has directed more than 45 theatre workshops across Karnataka, successfully training hundreds of college students and emerging artists and nurturing a deep passion for acting and theatre.
Dhananjaya Didaga has also trained several prominent actors and emerging talents in the Kannada film industry, including Aradhana Ram (Kaatera), daughter of actress Malashree; Rithanya Vijay (Landlord), daughter of actor Duniya Vijay; Dushyant (Gata Vaibhava); Dhanveer; Sreeleela (By Two Love); and Sheelam (Moda Kavida Vaatavarana), along with many other new-generation actors and actresses entering the film industry.
He has worked with several leading theatre organizations across Karnataka as a director, trainer, and creative mentor. He is also associated with the television industry as an Acting Mentor for the Zee Kannada reality show Mahanati, where he has guided aspiring performers in acting and screen performance.
In addition to his theatre and television work, he serves as Acting and Direction Faculty at:
- Pushkar Film Institute
- People Media Film Academy
- Indian Film Institute
Deeply interested in contemporary performance practices, Dhananjaya Didaga actively explores new media, innovative acting methodologies, and modern approaches to actor training. His pedagogy emphasizes continuous creative activity, experiential learning, camera-oriented performance, and practical actor preparation, enabling students to develop confidence, discipline, emotional depth, and a strong stage and screen presence.
Through his sustained contribution to theatre, cinema, television, and acting education, he has established himself as a respected theatre educator, acting coach, director, mentor, and faculty member in Karnataka’s performing arts and film fraternity.
