About Ope

I'm Ope Jide-Ojo. I'm an English teacher, voice actor as well as a diction and public speaking coach. I have 5+ years of experience teaching English online to students from diverse backgrounds, and across a wide range of proficiency levels. I've performed poetry on stage, narrated documentaries, been a stage and screen actor, and taught diction and public speaking.

I'm excited to watch my students transform into becoming skilled and eloquent speakers, and I've had the privilege of watching over 100 of them do so.

And so, it's my honour to bring you into my English-speaking world, to help you take your first step to becoming a more eloquent, more confident speaker.

About the lesson

My ability to teach proper speaking has helped me design courses and modules to help students achieve their English-speaking goals. In my classes, I teach the four pillars: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I also teach diction, vocabulary development, conversational English, and public speaking/presentation. My classes are designed to be beginner friendly, taking you from the foundation upwards.

As a native English speaker, my interaction with the language however, spans over 30 years. My lessons are for both children and adults - as I've taught both groups. Ideally, the youngest age I teach is 5 years old. To get the most value from my lessons, I require learners to have a basic command of both spoken and written English - a fair foundation that we can build upon. I also generally advise that both diction and public speaking be studied together - you learn proper pronunciation with diction and practise your delivery with public speaking.
