About Dhanraj
Hello, I am Dhanraj Rana, a Cybersecurity and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) professional with a strong academic background and practical industry experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and am currently pursuing an MBA in Cyber Security Management at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), India.
My professional journey includes experience in Information Security Audits, ISO/IEC 27001 compliance, Risk Assessment, Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR), Security Monitoring, Vulnerability Assessment, and Penetration Testing. I have worked as an Information Security Audit Intern, DFIR Intern, SOC Analyst Intern, and Penetration Testing Intern, where I gained hands-on experience with real-world cybersecurity challenges, security investigations, and compliance activities.
I am trained as an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Lead Auditor through Bureau Veritas and have worked with industry-recognized frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and OWASP Top 10. My technical experience includes tools such as Burp Suite, Wireshark, Nmap, Splunk, Autopsy, and EnCase.
As an educator, I believe cybersecurity should be taught through practical understanding rather than memorization. My classes focus on simplifying complex concepts, connecting theory with real-world scenarios, and helping students develop skills that are valuable for academics, certifications, internships, and professional careers. I aim to create an engaging learning environment where students gain confidence in information security, ethical hacking, risk management, compliance, and cybersecurity governance.
