About Izabela
I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with a specialization in Developmental Genetics from Stony Brook University and I am a current Master's student in Biology at NYU. I have taken highly technical classes and am passionate to help my students understand science and not just memorize it. My teaching approach emphasizes making science topics intuitive rather than memorized! I break down material using analogies, diagrams, and exam-style reasoning questions so students can learn to think like a scientist rather than just recall terms. My typical lesson plan includes a warm up, core lesson, application and then a wrap up. What sets me apart is my experience as a student and lab researcher in highly technical courses, so I understand where students get lost and how to fix it. I explain material the way I wish it had been explained to me. I teach middle school, high school, and college students in various biology classes such as Living Environment, AP Bio, and university level biology courses.
