About Teresa
I have been teaching for almost 2 years now. I teach 8th grade, but tutor at our school for all grade levels and subjects. I previously worked as an admissions counselor. I have seen and worked the educational spectrum from Pre-K to College. I have earned a MAT and a BA in English (with a minor in Globalization and International Affairs). I love working with students and am hoping to move into teaching at the collegiate level soon.
I like to get to know my students and celebrate their successes with them!

I meet students where they are and assess the best way to help them reach their academic goals. A lot of learning has been lost, and some students (even in my own classroom) are not where they should be. I use positive reinforcement and patience to foster a student's confidence in their abilities and understanding of the content. I have high expectations for the students that I tutor and know that they are capable of learning the content.
I currently teach 8th grade ELA, but am certified 8-12, and previously was employed as a college admissions counselor (helping freshmen and reading/editing many admission essays).
For anything ELA related, I am your gal. I also tutor for science, history, and math (8th grade and below).
