About Martina
I am currently a law student who aspires to be an academic/researcher, hoping to change the world through different methods and policy reform.
I have been tutoring for nearly 3 years, mainly in literature and drama. This is mainly due to my previous education in drama school.
When I was in secondary school, I had always found it difficult to keep up with my classmates, and what made it worse was how shy I used to be. That was when my parents had enrolled me in an afterschool 1-1 program which boosted my confidence. I had started to contribute in class - which was a huge milestone! It was this experience that inspired me to give back to the community and give students the opportunity that I had.
Seeing my students thrive and being a part of that journey as a tutor is my motivation.

I tailor worksheets and powerpoints to students, tailoring my tutoring methods to their needs.
Typical lesson length: 60-90mins
Subjects: (English Literature, Drama and Religious Studies at either A-Level or GCSE level.
I currently work closely with a charity in tutoring students through their GCSE and A-Levels and I am DBS checked.
In these tutoring sessions, my main goal is to ensure that my students' needs are met. I normally create or find worksheet and powerpoints to strengthen their academic abilities. For example, if one of my students tell me that they are struggling on their analysis, I talk them through breaking down the different levels of analysis; from a surface level interpretation to a more in-depth and detailed one
