About Ranuli
I am currently studying Law at Durham and I am in my 1st year. As a child, I struggled a lot with English, particularly essay writing, and I thought I was one of those people who just 'didn't get it'. However, with the right support, especially from my teachers, I began to realise that I was just approaching it in the wrong way, and I needed to alter my perception of essay writing in general. With time, I began to excel in all of my English exams, achieving 9s and A*s at both GCSE and A-level. I fell in love with English, particularly essay writing and structuring my own arguments, which is what motivated me to study law.
I want to assure students that it's okay to struggle and not understand how to approach essay and creative wiring at first- but with the right methods and lots of effort you can easily achieve the highest grades. I want to show my students the benefits of learning English and I hope that eventually they will enjoy essay writing as much as I do.

I aim to inspire and help students achieve their full potential when it comes to insightful and creative analysis in essay writing.
I will teach students how to analyse a given text and how to answer typical exam questions in a sophisticated style. I will also support them in learning how to make their writing stand out with advanced language techniques.
A typical lesson will include a given exam question which we will dissect and discuss. Then we will write an essay plan and discuss how to structure our answer, before writing it. I will set some homework at the end of every lesson but this will only be a short task. I will also support and aid my students if they are having difficulties in their work.
Lessons will typically be an hour long.
I am a current Law student and achieved high grades in both my GCSEs and A-levels, so I am able to confidently support my students with their learning journey. I aim to show them that essay and creative writing is not scary and hopefully foster a love for English in them.
My lessons are aimed at students who are either working towards their 11+ or GCSEs and I will structure my lessons accordingly to suit children of all abilities.
