About Clare
Hi, I’m Clare. I’m a Senior Scenic Artist and Prop Finisher with over 10 years’ experience working on feature films and high-end television productions. I currently work in the industry, so the guidance I offer reflects the realities of film and TV today.
Alongside my professional career, I hold an MA in Moving Image from the Royal College of Art and studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art (UAL). My background combines creative practice with hands-on industry experience, giving me a unique perspective on building a sustainable career in film and television.
I know how confusing it can feel when you’re trying to break into the industry or decide which direction to take. There isn’t one right path, and everyone’s journey is different. My role is to help you understand the options available, identify where your strengths fit, and give you honest, practical advice that you can actually use.
Whether you’re applying to film school, changing careers, exploring the Art Department, or simply wondering how the industry works, I’m here to answer your questions, share my experience, and help you move forward with confidence. My mentoring is supportive, realistic and tailored to your individual goals, with the aim of helping you build a creative career that’s both fulfilling and sustainable.

My mentoring is designed for aspiring professionals, film school applicants, graduates and career changers looking to build a career in the film and television industry. Drawing on over 10 years’ experience working on major feature films and high-end television productions, I provide practical, current industry guidance based on how the industry works today.
Every session is tailored to your individual goals. Whether you’re exploring career pathways, preparing for film school, developing your portfolio, improving your CV, planning your next career move or looking to understand how professional productions operate, I’ll provide honest, constructive advice and actionable guidance.
As a Senior Scenic Artist and Prop Finisher, I have extensive knowledge of the Art Department, production design, scenic art, props, set decoration, freelance working, networking and the realities of working on large-scale productions. I can also help you understand how different departments interact and where your skills may fit within the wider industry.
Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes and are suitable for students, emerging creatives and professionals at any stage of their career. My aim is to give you realistic, up-to-date insight, build your confidence and help you take practical steps towards a sustainable career in film and television.
I also have experience supporting neurodivergent learners, adapting sessions to suit different learning styles and creating an encouraging, structured environment where everyone can develop with confidence.
