About Ellen
I am uniquely qualified to teach both English Literature and Creative Writing. In 2021, I gradated with a first class degree in English Literature with Creative Writing, collecting the Edith C. Wilson Prize for best performance on my degree programme.
In 2022, I started my MFA at Columbia University in Writing (Fiction).
My teaching experience spans the UK and New York. I mentored students for the Manchester Schools Poetry Competition in 2021, taught English Literature at the Tutor Trust in 2022 and started teaching an after school Creative Writing Class in New York in 2023.

The triangular shape of my teaching philosophy relies on creation, accessibility and encouragement. I have found that no one approach works for every student so I individualise my lessons accordingly.
I create an inclusive learning environment which focuses on English Literature and Creative Writing holistically, believing reading and writing to be wholly intertwined.
I can help with creative writing, academic and essay writing and literature. I aim to inspire, to help my students flourish!
