About Layla
My name is Layla and I am an A-level English Literature student. I am very passionate about English and enjoy reading and writing in my free time, I especially enjoy the work of Charles Dickens. I achieved a grade A* in English literature overall and a high grade in English language. My main skills in English are comprehension and analysis but I am skilled in all areas.
In terms of my ability to teach children, I already gathered experience by way of teaching a class of Year 1-2 in dance for a year, so I understand how to listen to children needs and desires and responding in a way that will help them learn. I do also have dyslexia which has not stopped me from achieving high grades in English, but it gives me a way to understand how to help a child with a similar condition and find ways to work with it.

My lessons will be aimed at primary school children who are struggling with comprehension and English in general.
I plan to run my lessons for an hour, once a week but I am happy to cater more time for students who may need additional support, to ensure the student feels confident with their English skills and would include assisting them with their homework. Along with preparing each student for any upcoming tests.
I aim to do above tasks in the most engaging way for a young child by using different activities and learning games. I have developed my own teaching method by gathering learning techniques from various teachers I've studied under.
