About Chloe
I have been tutoring students since I was in Middle school. I was the kid who did math workbooks every summer, went to math camps, and played Sudoku for fun. I've known what I've wanted to do since I was 15 and that was work with numbers, which is why I am going into Finance. For me, math should be a fun thing that helps us in everyday life, and I want to show students that just because math can be a little more challenging, that does not mean that it is not worth the effort. I've been tutoring not only kids at elementary schools, as well as my little sister. My dad oftentimes would have me explain topics to her to deepen my understanding of different ideas. He also would quiz me in the car, making me do mental problems or play math games at home such as 24. Now I am at the point where I can do math calculations quickly in my head.

Typically in my first session, we focus on getting to know each other, going over the basics and the foundation-level skills. My job is to fill in the cracks for any foundational knowledge and help with any new topics. After we get to know each other a little better, each session will specifically focus on mastering multiple or a single large topic. Different students prefer to learn in different ways so if a student is a more visual learner, I might bring blocks to the session or have them watch a video of me explaining a topic. A lot of times, the problem with learning is the lack of individual attention. Classes are so big and it's hard sometimes to get to every student. As a tutor, I can focus on each student and figure out the best method for teaching my students. My main focus for teaching is elementary as well as middle school-aged students.
