About Vea
Hello! My name is Vea Calayo. I work in a corporate office and I have a background in design. I am not a traditional school teacher, but my daily job is all about speaking clearly and helping people.
Because of my corporate experience, I speak and write fluent English every single day. Also, my design background helps me make learning materials look fun, neat, and very easy for kids to understand.
I promise to bring this same focus and care to your child's lessons. For me, being a mentor means creating a kind, patient, and stress-free space where your child can practice English. About Me & My Approach
Hi! I’m a former architectural student and corporate customer service professional. While I don’t come from a traditional classroom teaching background, I act as an encouraging, patient mentor helping primary school students (Grades 1 to 6) build genuine confidence in speaking, reading, and writing English.
My lessons are perfect for young learners, absolute beginners, or shy students who know their schoolbook rules but hesitate to speak out loud. Because I’m not a formal teacher, our sessions won't feel like boring schoolwork. Instead, I combine a unique blend of two worlds to make learning fun and practical:
Visual-Spatial Learning: Using my architectural design background, I break down grammar, reading, and vocabulary into creative visual aids and clean layouts that keep young minds active and engaged.
Real-World Fluency: Drawing from my corporate call center experience, I teach English the way it's actually spoken. We focus on natural dialogue, active listening, and building real conversation skills in a low-pressure environment.
A Typical 50-Minute Lesson Snapshot
5 Min: A fun, casual chat or word game to get them warmed up and speaking right away.
15 Min: Introducing the day's focus using colorful, engaging visual guides and stories.
20 Min: Active practice! Interactive roleplays, describing pictures, or reading aloud together.
