I believe that learning should feel approachable and empowering for all students. My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence in their abilities by making complex topics more understandable and less intimidating. I focus on conceptual understanding rather than memorization, breaking down difficult ideas into manageable steps. My sessions are interactive, using problem-solving, real-world applications, and targeted strategies—especially for standardized tests, where time management and test-taking techniques are key.
Each session begins with a quick review to reinforce retention before introducing new material through guided explanations and step-by-step examples. I encourage students to think critically, providing hints rather than direct answers to help them develop problem-solving skills. We always end with key takeaways and an action plan for independent practice, ensuring steady progress.
As a high school student myself, I understand the academic pressures students face. This allows me to connect with students on a relatable level while offering structured, effective guidance. I adapt my explanations based on different learning styles and focus not just on knowledge but also on study techniques and confidence-building.
I tutor students preparing for the PSAT and SAT, as well as those seeking support in math (up to Algebra 2) and English (up to grade 10).
