Perfect! I have just started with Esil, but already I have seen she is a fantastic piano teacher. Speaking as a self-taught 30+ year old adult (~intermediate) learner, she is a rare and welcome find for me - most teachers are only adept with children in my experience. Esil is able to speak to me like a professional peer, leveraging my existing knowledge while helping me fix my bad habits and improve my technique. She is hyper-fast at explaining things, but never too fast - the lessons feel laid back but simultaneously engaging/challenging, like I'm making progress under her as fast I can. Due to her performance degree, she has an impressive array of relevant knowledge to whip out at any notice, including theory. I was working on some pieces a bit too advanced for my level (in my opinion, though not hers) and on a first play through she had already given me 3-4 tips and a few exercises which immediately improved my performance within a week or two, despite already spending 1-2 years on those pieces and struggling on a few sections. As a self-taught learner, she is always explaining things I wouldn't have thought of on my own, like an exercise to sing out the melody line in a cantabile piece, which eluded me but is very helpful. She is very encouraging, I am also a pretty nervous performer but I have felt very comfortable with her. She also has a good culture vibe and is a Ghibli/Joe Hisaishi fan.

My only regret is not recruiting her sooner! Never too late to do things to right way, I suppose. Thanks Esil, looking forward to our continued lessons!
