About Irina-Maria
I am a 2-nd year Computer Science student at City University, with A-levels in Mathematics(A), Further Mathematics(B), and Computer Science(B).
I have previous teaching experience at "CoderDojos", where I was the mentor of a group of 3 tutees learning Python programming.
I have also guided several relatives with their Mathematics GCSE. From creating a revision schedule, going through the wrong questions in past papers, to covering concepts their teacher missed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my A-levels and the challenges it brought, and I want to share my knowledge and passion for the subjects. My goal is to teach how and why and to give my students a deep understanding.
'Clarity of Communication’, is vital when tutoring and this is reflected in my style of giving lessons. Teaching will be based around the topics which the tutee will have chosen prior to the session. This will allow me to best prepare useful materials and come up with the key points to go over during the lesson.
An lesson will consist of me gaining an understanding of the areas the tutee would like to sharpen and focus on. No matter the topic of choice or the subject, concepts will be talked through and clearly explained. Further activities will also be used to supplement knowledge of the chosen topic, whether it be thinking of counter-arguments of a viewpoint or going over related past paper questions. Overall, the nature of what the tutee decides to focus on will dictate the content of the lesson.
