About Caitlin
I work full-time in research and proposal writing and just recently left a position in communications and marketing for an engineering firm. I have experience writing and editing for the non-profit, public and private sectors, as well as extensive experience as an academic editor and English tutor. With a graduate degree of my own, I regularly assist Master's and PhD students with their theses and dissertations, covering everything from explaining assignments and helping them outline/map ideas to editing for grammar, spelling, clarity, readability - all while ensuring the final document meets the appropriate referencing style (e.g., APA).
Recognizing that writing is not everyone's strength, I aim to make the process as smooth as possible. I provide meaningful comments and feedback to help you improve the quality of your work in the future; offer effective research and studying tips; and work to understand your learning style so that I can provide feedback in a way that you will understand.

I believe in taking the time to get to know each individual student's learning style so that I can assist in a way that will be most meaningful and effective to that particular student. I like to gain an understanding of your goals - for instance, do you just need help with an assignment or do you want to learn skills that you can carry forward and apply to writing and assignments later in life? I see teaching as a partnership and believe in meeting my students where they're at.
