About Francis
I have been using a tutoring approach in the teaching of Public Speaking and even in the field of mass communications .
I started as a high school teacher in an inner-city school and quickly learned that the "student " was more important than the content of the class. Their success was the key to learning or mastering the content. Nothing beats success than success. Even the smallest achievement is important. This is the key. The opposite is often true in education where the stress of failure is destructive in learning.
The relationship between the teacher and student is the key to learning success.
My philosophy is very simple, you build success with small steps of achievement and the method is that of the ancient philosopher Aristotle, you Learn by doing. In more than 40 years of teaching I have found no more effective means to learn and to grow. Lecturing does not work for many students, but doing and achieving step by step s the most efficient and successful.

I have had unique success with public-speaking students with extreme anxiety problems. And with basic English composition. All of my lessons are individually planned based upon the students specific issues. and a counseling process instead of the typical classroom experience.
My lessons are based on the student's recognition of his or her difficulties and understanding of why it is necessary to resolve them. I use video and audio examples, I also have the student create their own lessons and complete them.
The lessions start and end with the student's Interest- needs with supervision and assistance step by step until the improvement level desired has been achieved. I use the stimulus ( need and content) student responds to the content and an immediate positive reward for the work done. I have samples of lessons that have used but my success has been in adapting the content to the student.
