About Sakir
Hello! My name is Sakir Pathan, and I’m passionate about helping students understand and enjoy math. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from India and am currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources and Business Management at Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie. With years of experience supporting classmates and friends, I’ve developed a natural ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take the time to adapt my teaching methods to suit individual needs. Whether your child needs help catching up or wants to build stronger math skills, I provide a calm and supportive environment to make learning effective and stress-free. My goal is to help students feel confident, ask questions freely, and develop a real understanding of the subject. I’m committed, reliable, and always professional in my approach. As a tutor, my goal is to make math feel simple and enjoyable for every student. I believe that learning works best when the student feels confident and understood, so I use a step-by-step, concept-based approach that connects real-life examples to math concepts. I always adjust my teaching style depending on how each student learns best—whether it’s through visuals, repetition, or hands-on practice. A typical lesson starts with a quick review of the last topic to build confidence, followed by a new concept explained with clarity and examples. Then, we work through practice problems together, and I give short exercises the student can try on their own. What sets me apart is that I’m very friendly, patient, and bilingual—I can teach in English, Hindi, or Gujarati, which makes it easier for some students to understand difficult topics. These lessons are perfect for students from Grades 1 to 8 who want to improve their skills in basic arithmetic, decimals, fractions, percentages, or problem-solving. Whether your child is struggling or wants to get ahead, I’m here to help them feel confident and capable in math!
