About Samantha
My name is Samantha Ogata and I am a nineteen-year-old student who is majoring in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry, a minor in Biology, and an AS in Math. Although I do not have a bachelor’s degree, I am still a great asset when it comes to tutoring. I have been tutoring college level students (between Intermediate Algebra and Calculus II) for two years. I have had a great deal of experience with tutoring and I have found a great love for aiding students.

Instead of students feeling intimidated by an older person, I can bring myself to the level of the student and connect more deeply with them because I can break down the barriers of intimidation and shyness. My goal is for every student to feel excited to learn and confident in their own skills. I format lessons by communicating with the student about what they feel comfortable and not comfortable with. I start with something they are comfortable with to grow their confidence and trust in me, then I slowly build to the more difficult topics.

Details
I charge 12 dollars an hour for high school level students and college students under Calculus I. For tutoring in Calculus I or II I charge 15 dollars an hour. If I am not notified 24 hours before a session of a cancellation the student must pay for the session and an additional 15 dollar cancellation fee.
