About Mary
Hi! I’m currently studying Elementary Education at BYU and have a real passion for helping kids learn and grow. I grew up in Salt Lake City, went to high school in Colorado, and I’m now based in Utah. I love working with children and currently help kids with reading at another local program—now I’m looking for more opportunities to support students in their learning. I’m patient, positive, and love to make learning fun and encouraging. I also served a mission in Iowa, which helped me strengthen my communication and teaching skills. When I’m not tutoring, I love spending time outdoors and enjoying nature. You can count on me to show up prepared, kind, and ready to help your child build confidence in English.

Hi! I’m a friendly and patient tutor who loves helping kids feel more confident in English. I keep things fun and relaxed while focusing on reading, writing, spelling, and grammar. I adjust each lesson to fit your child’s level and learning style—whether they need help with homework, want to improve their reading, or just need extra help in classes or over the summer. A typical lesson includes going over what they specifically need help with, including a warm-up, a main focus (like writing or reading). I’m great at making students feel comfortable, even if they’re shy or struggling. My goal is to make learning English feel easier—and even fun!
