I met Ángel during lockdown in Dublin, when he was teaching Spanish through online platforms.
I had intensive 2 hour learning sessions with him over 2 years during that time.

Ángel is very methodical, patient and encouraging. The classes were very practical, and I found he explained Spanish in a way that made it easy to understand.
What I learnt during his classes stayed with me.

Ángel helped me practice the Spanish I already had, improving my pronunciation and my vocabulary, and I grew in confidence in spoken and written Spanish.

He was very generous with his time, correcting written work in advance of classes, and suggesting innovative ways to improve my Spanish all the time.

I would highly recommend Ángel for spoken Spanish, conversation, formal writing and exam preparation.

Angel was my Spanish teacher for more than a year and I really enjoyed his classes.
He's really patient and organised and he was able to keep us engaged and focused for the 3 hours class we would have every week.

His lessons were clear and he would always explain the logic behind to make sure we understood the "why" not just learning by heart from repetition.

Even if the class we were coming from different language backgrounds and different levels, at the end of the course we all progressed and reached the same knowledge.

Angel was also always available, if we had doubts or questions we could reach out for help even outside the class hours which show how passionate he is in his job.

I would definitively recommend him as teacher and I'm grateful for what I learnt.

I cannot recommend Angel enough as a tutor. I first began weekly in-person classes with Angel five years ago for extra help while studying Spanish in university. Through his cognitive language learning style, he helped me fully understand the logic behind the grammar rules with real life examples of when to apply them. This hugely changed my attitude towards the language and I began thinking more and more in Spanish. He is very patient and I always felt comfortable asking questions.

After graduating university, I decided to continue doing classes online with Angel as I was delighted to see how much my Spanish was progressing. Angel’s approach is brilliant for those who wish to enjoy learning a language as he tailors each class personally to you and to your own interests. Through discussions about Spanish podcasts, tv shows, books and films that I loved, he massively helped build my confidence and I saw my level in Spanish continuously improve. As he is a native speaker, I especially noticed a difference in my pronunciation.

Despite different working schedules over the past few years, I have prioritised continuing these lessons online as the classes became something I really looked forward to.

I met Ángel when I was preparing for a DELE exam and needed to focus on my weaker speaking and writing skills. I loved that every lesson was personalized to my needs and that Ángel noticed even the smallest progress, encouraging and motivating me. Ángel always listened to my reasoning behind a certain choice of word/tense, treating the language as a flexible tool to express myself rather than a set of rules.
The cognitive teaching method that Ángel practices is the most engaging of all I've experienced as a student. We continued our lessons even after my DELE exam because it was such an adventure to explore the depths of the Spanish language guided by Ángel.

Ángel is one of the most professional tutors I know. He can adapt learning process to his student's individual needs and abilities. He helps to prepare for real day-to-day communication in Spanish, learn cultural and social traits as well as understand grammar usage from the logical point of view and not just learning everything by heart without realising the meaning that entails opting for different grammar constructions. I've been learning Spanish with him as my tutor for three years and thanks to him my overall knowledge of this language has improved significantly.

I want to thank Angel for the very useful Spanish classes, specially of his cognitive work. Angel taught me how to use Spanish subjunctive in a native way, because in my university I wasn’t able to understand that topic from my teachers.
Also I liked our classes because we had a lot of conversations, that improved my Spanish speaking skills. We spoke about different topics and I learned a lot. Nowadays I use Spanish in my every day life and I always remember the classes with Angel.

I studied Spanish with Ángel during the course for three years. Ángel's approach to teaching a foreign language is quite different from what I had been used to in the past, as he teaches Spanish using 'cognitivism'. This means that his teaching techniques favour logical thinking over mnemonic tools and strict rules. Ángel encourages his students to cognitively think about how to apply "rules" and even challenge them at times. I really enjoyed learning Spanish this way, and I feel that this approach helped me progress from an elementary to an advanced level quite quickly and yet steadily. I would highly recommend Ángel - besides his excellent teaching skills, he is a very friendly, kind and attentive person, who always listens to your learning needs and adapts to your pace while fostering progress.
