About Claire

Hello, I'm Claire, a second-year student pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science and Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I've dedicated myself to tutoring elementary and middle school students in various subjects. Additionally, I've served as a Teaching Assistant for high school-level Math and Chemistry courses. Having been raised in Taiwan, Mandarin is my native language, making me proficient in Mandarin Chinese for editing, translation, and one-on-one conversation sessions. I also offer tutoring in middle and high school Math and Science subjects such as Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and Chemistry. Furthermore, I specialize in preparing students for Speech and Debate competitions, SAT Math exams.

Having applied to college and gotten into more than 15 Top 50 colleges in the US (and more than 5 top 30 universities) I also provide college applications consulting.

Throughout high school, I achieved consistent excellence in mathematics, culminating in receiving the prestigious Department of Mathematics award upon graduation as the top student in my class for all four years. Beyond my academic achievements, I have a proven track record of mentoring middle school students to qualify for advanced math programs. My expertise extends to supporting students who struggle with math and science, where I specialize in identifying individual learning styles and reigniting their passion and confidence in these subjects.
