About Laura
I recently graduated from Durham University with an MA in Classics, and during my studies, I studied Greek language and literature to an advanced level, including prose composition (translation into Greek). I read and analysed Greek Epic poetry, such as Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Greek Tragedy, such as Euripides' Medea and Sophocles' Oedipus the King, historical and rhetorical texts, such as Herodotus' Histories, Isocrates Panegyricus, and Philosophy, such as Plato's Euthyphro and Protagoras. I also studied a wide range of topics relating to Greek history and culture, including the Persian wars, Greek Theatre, and Greek Epigraphy. I authored translations to a set of inscribed inscriptions to the deity Ariste Kalliste for Attic Inscriptions Online (forthcoming).

I offer one-to-one tutorials on Ancient Greek language and literature, suitable for GCSE and A-Level candidates of Classical Greek, or for adult learners of any level. Tutorials are personalised to each pupil and typically last 1 hour, and could cover a mixture of translation practice, vocabulary practice, grammar, and literature, all tailored towards building essential exam skills and sharpening your exam technique. I cover all papers and literature for the 2026, 2027 and 2028 GCSE and A-Level exam series.
