About Nikita

I studied Art, English and Chemistry at A-Level. My qualifications include an A* in English Language and an A in English Literature at GCSE level and an A in English Literature at A-Level.

Involved in Literature club and winning a poetry competition throughout my years at school, I have carried my passion for English into my degree which involves extensive language and communication skills.

I have recently come out of A Level education, so I am knowledgeable with the recent topic requirements at school and will be able to relate to my students' concerns and aspirations.

I am currently in the process of doing a Master of Chiropractic degree - MChiro (Hons) at AECC University which i started in September 2017.
My degree is centred around helping others which has largely contributed to my excellent communication and time management skills.

I have always tried to help friends and colleagues when possible, often becoming involved in study groups to enhance my own knowledge and spreading useful tips and information to those around me.

I am patient and a good listener, having previously volunteered at night for Samaritans. I believe having empathy is a key life skill and maintaining a considerate and cooperative attitude is especially important for tutors.

About the lesson

Having a thorough conversation with each student and looking through their current work helps me to effectively identify weaknesses. I am a flexible and interactive teacher who can pinpoint how a student processes information, for example reflective or active learning to help tailor each lesson to their needs. I like to use a variety of techniques which I have found effective and useful for myself and others. This can range from mind maps, using direct questions and pushing my students with written exercises. I believe it is important to plan each session beforehand, including the student's personal goals so that time is used effectively. I also think it is crucial for my pupils to have a thorough understanding of each topic and going over concepts in a clear way, using strategies for reading and writing skills. As a student I personally struggled with picking apart different ideas from context and managing my time effectively when writing essays, problems which I learned to overcome by myself and with the help of my school teachers.
